A FAMILY DISPUTE.
FEELING BETWEEN BROTHERS. By Telemnh.—Press Association. Christehurch, Last Night. A charge of assault against Albert Edward Nicholl, of assaulting James Nicholl by pointing a loaded shot-gun at him with intent to do grievous bodily harm, was dismissed by Mr. Day, S.M. The parties are brothers, and' the incident occurred at Halswell on January 10th. The ovMpdpp showed the accused had his brother covered with a gun while they discussed a family dispute for about three-quarters of ail hour. He was subsequently disarmed by the police. Counsel for the accused pointed out that no attempt was made to discharge ; the gun, and the Magistrate dismissed the case.
