PLUNKET SOCIETY.
The month ll ' meeting of the New Plymouth hrn'Vi of f-he Plunket Society was held at the Society's rooms on Monday. Mrs. Burgess presided. The following resolutions were pusscd:—That a special vote of thanks be sent to the Press for their generous help to the Society; that Mi's. Clarke (Mayoress) be asked to become patron of tlie Society; that the committee eoui sider the desirability of getting a capable V.A.D. to help Nurse Williams until another Plunkel nurse can be obtained, this matter to be discussed at the next meeting; that for the current year Mrs. Nicholson be asked to act for the committee in all matters pertaining to the car; that the house committee consist of Mesdames Burgess, Standish and Stuart Russell; that the committee will be pleased morning tea from 10 30 to 11,30 on April 2-L in the Plunket rooms to all workers for the mart in aid of the G.F.S. Hostel. Miss Andrews' resignation was accepted with regret. A letter was read from the secretary of the Dunedin Plunket Society saying how difficult it was at present to supply Plunket nurses, but hoping that many more' young women will enter for the training in the near future. The Nurse's report was read and adopted. Before +V. meeting closed Mrs. Burgess kindly invited all members of the committee to'afternoon tea on the afternoon of the next monthly meeting, the second Monday in May.
