AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIP. The Auckland golf championship was won by R. M. George, who defeated 1). MacCormlck, 5 up and 4 to play. WELLINGTON CHAMPIONSHIP. The Wellington Easter tournament was eoneluded on Tuesday, when A. Duncan, the oresent eJiampSon. defeated .1. H. Horton, 2 up. Duncan played freat golf throughout the day, and quite upheld his reputation as a player ot exceptional skiil. THE AUSTRALIAN CHAMPION. Mr. .lohu K. Tall, of the firm of .1 and N. Talt, Is a keen golfer, and Is a well-known figure on all the Sydney and Melbourne links. Speaking to a Dominion reporter, Mr. Talt stated that.Mr. ,T. H. Kirkwood. the Australian professional champion—a young man only 24 years of age—and a brilliant exponent, of the game, was desirous of visiting N'ew Zealand, and If arrangements of some kind could be rmnde with the clubs, he was sure he could Induce Mr. Kirkwood to make the trip.
