The New Zealand Metropolitan Club's Easter meeting was concluded in fine weather, • but a strong hot wind made matters unpleasant in the early part of the day. There was a largo attendance and excellent racing. At a meeting of the Board of the New Zealand Trotting Association, a letter was received, from the Northland (Whangarel) Trotting Ciub giving details of an Inquiry held regarding the horse Walruhe, who was stated to be identical with Peary, It was decided to ask Mr. A. G. Mabee (stipendiary steward) to obtain further particulars. CHRISTCHURCH STUD SALE. WELL-KNOWN HORSES SOLD. Christchurch, Last Night. Horses of Mr. G. L Stead's Brackenfleld stud were sold by auction to-day. The principal sales were:—Melee, bought by Mr. F. L. Eastgate, 700 gns; Kllmoon, bought by Mr. T. Rutherford. 270 gns; Wanlgnn, Mr. R. McDonnell, 200 gns. Nassau was sold to Mr. H. S. Kyle for 2100 gns; bay mare Cassock to Mr. H. S. Kyle for 473 gns; brown maro Mountain Dream to Mr. H. S. Kyle, 270 gns. Other horses offered on account of other owners—Starlike was passed In at 80 gns; Grim Joke was passed in at 200 gns; Moorabbe was passed in at 150 gns; Counter Attack was passed in at 250 gns; The Shipper was passed mi at 25 gns; Mnrsa was passed in, no bid; Mystified was passed In at 30 gns; Prince Delaware was_ passed In at 70 gns.
