REPATRIATION.

NEW PLYMOUTH COMMITTEE. The New ri.vmouth Repatriation Committee met last evening, there being present: Messrs W. .T. Chanev, F. W. Okey, K J Clark, E. Whittle, T. C. List. Pi Hin-tneli, H. R. Cattie;.*. .T. H. Rowlands and the secretary (Mr A. S Alien) Mr. Chancy was appointed tc the chair in the absence of Mr. C. H. Weston. The action of the executive in arranging six months' farm training for a Wellington man, granting ft £SO furniture loan, and a train-' ing allowance tc a man taking up painting and paper-hanging was confirmed. Threo names appeared on the unemployment roil, two requiring clerical work, and the other motor or light work. An application for a loan of £3OO for the purchase of a. half interest* In a grocery business, was recommended, and one for £IOO by two men t> start in business a.* painters, etc., was grunted. An application for £3OO for the purchaso of stock, and £75 for furniture was deferred for further Information. An application for £75 foi furniture was approved, as wero four applications (three of £oo and one of £25) recommended by the Opunako Committee. Training allowances were granted in respect of two men desirous of learning ne«v trades, viz., hair-dressing and carpentry. Another application by a carpenter to learn boot-making was refused, The payment of half the correspondence course fees of two men was agreed to.
