THE WAIHI STRIKE.
CONFERENCE TO BE HELD, By Telepapli.—Press Association, Wellington, Last ' Night. The Prime Minister has been successful in arranging a conference between the gold mine owners and the miners to discuss the points at issue in the dispute at Wailii. Mr. Massey : s offer of the services of a Conciliation Commissioner to act as chairman of the conference has been accepted by both Bides. Owing to the illness of the Commissioner at Auckland, Mr. P. Hally, now of the Board of Trade, hut formerly the Conciliation Commissioner at Wellington, is to act, and will leave for the North to-morrow. The conference will sit at Wailii as soon tus possible. It is understood each side will be represented by four assessors.
