CIVIL BUSINESS. A sitting of the Magistate's Court at New Plymouth was held yesterday for the transaction of civil business, when the following cases were dealt with Judgment for plaintiff by default was given ;in the case of James >S. Fox (Mr. Croker) v. Tuvoa Kahukura, £l3 15s (costs £1 19s 6d). ' PARTNERSHIP DISPUTE. Charles W. Williams (Mr. IT. R. Billing) claimed from Henry George Knight (Mr. F. E. Wilson) the sum of £57 10s od in respect Jo amounts due during the period between March, 1917, and April, WIS, for board and lodging, supplies of tobacco, and an equal share of money collected by defendant on behalf of both parties- Defendant counter-claimed for £<lß 10s for work done repairing 'and painting plaintiff's motor car and launch at the rate of £1 per week, for two loans of £7 and £8 each, half proceeds of "hare-hunting excursion to Ipglewood. and half proceeds on a bet on the winning horse in a certain race, for which plaintiff had not accounted. Evidence was given by the parties, after which the Magistrate non-suited plaintiff on the claim and defendant on. the counter-claim.
