THE DEMAND FOB MOKE PAY. WILL KAISE PRICE OF COAL. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, March 20. Mr. Lloyd George, replying to a deputation from the Miners' Federation, regarding the wages demand for an increase of 3a per shift for those over 1(1 and 8d for those under Hi, which it is stated will cost £55,000,000, and raise the price of coal 3s a ton, ami the demand amounted to syndicalism in its worst and least intelligent form. The claim was that the whole of the abnormal profit made out of the Foreigner, which now went to the State, should be given to the miners.
