MEAT AND SHIPS.
THE -DOMINION CONFERENCE.
POSTPONED TILL AFTER EASTER.
By Telegraph.—Press Association.
Wellington, Last Night. As a result of a recent discussion by ihe Board of Agriculture in conjunction with invited delegates from different interests upon the question of frozen meat and shipping, it was arranged that a further and larger conference should be held at an early date, and the Farmers' Union, Agricultural and Pastoral Associations, the Shipowners' Union, Freezing Companies, and Dairy Associations, were invited to select delegates to attend this conference.
It had been anticipated that it would be held before Easter, but circumstances have arisen which necessitate its postponement until after the Easter holidays. One important matter for discussion is the question of shipping conditions and freights when the time comes for the Dominion produce to bo sold in the opsn market. The shipping companies were communicated with, but owing to the position not yet b?ing clear, are not yet able to furnish the information necessary to enable the proposed discussion on these points to be carried out to the best advantage. They have, however, intimated that they will communicate further as soon as they are in a position to do so.
