FOOTBALL.
THE OKATO CLUB. •AXN'UAL MEETING. The annua! meeting of the Oka to Football Club was held on Tuesday night,' when Mr. L. H. Andrews (president) presided orer an attendance ot about 35 members. The balancesheet showed receipts £27 17s 2d, the principal Items being: Subs £7 Bs, gate £8 IBs 3d, ball receipts £ll 8s !)d. Expenditure totalled £ll 10s Sd, there being a credit balance for the season of £lO 0s 3d, making with the pevlous balance a total of £32 5a 11. In moving the adoption of the balancesheet, tho chairman congratulated the club on the financial success of the first season after tho club bad been dormant for three years during; the war. He also congratulated the club on the success achieved on the football field by the team which was mostly comprised of young players, adding that with the Additional ciperience calned during the season and assiduous practice this year, together with the services of the new players, he trusted the club would achieve further success this year. Officers were elected as follows: Patron, Mr. John Putt (re-elected) ; president, Mr. L. H. Andrews (re-elected); vice-Tiresifttents, Messrs. .1. S. Fax, E. 0. Meredlin, and P. Corbett; secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. L. Power (re-elected); delegate to the Taranakl Rugby Union, Mr. Jas. QaTcia (reelected) ; management committee, Messrs. L. H. Andrews, R. C. Larsen, E. Leedom, E. Corbett, and J. L. Power (secretary); auditor, Mr. It. C. LaTseu; selectors, Messrs. L. H. I Andrews, W. MeMCarthy, and R. C. Larsen; ! club captain, Mr. W. McCarthy. The subscription was fixed at. 10s, all players to be insured by the club. It was resolved that the colors he the same as last year, viz., green and black. The first practice will be held on Saturday, March 27th. The question of grounds and of arranging for travelling was left to the committee, the understanding being that the team travel together, j Mr. Larsen brought up the question of get-1 ting a permanent ground on the Domain. He ] pointed out that tenders had been called for, I levelling the ground, but tho price asked was £ 178, and as the Domain Board only had £IOO in hand, the work could not be undertaken. He suggested that the club should combine with the Domain Board In running a sports gathering. This was unanimously agreed to, and Messrs L. H. Andrews, K. Corbett and V. Corbett were appointed to meet the Domain Board. Votes of thanks were accorded Mr. A. Stewart for the use of his paddock, the ladles who assisted with the ball, and to the delegate. ■ Eulogist ic reference was made to the excellent work done by Mr. Power as secretary to the club, and he was voted an honor'arlum of £5 ss. Mr.- Power, however, declined to accept the' honorarium, remarking that what he had done was for tho good of the game. It was resolved to enter a senior and a second junior team for the competition. Mr. E. O. Meredith offered to donate a. silver cup for competition. The offer was accepted with thanks. OKAIAWA CLUB. • The annual meeting of the football club was hold on Friday evening, the president (Mr. A. Lees) presiding over a fair attendance. The secretary, Mr. 0. Roberts, presented the annual report and balance-sheet, tho latter Showing a credit balance of E26 16s M. The balance-sheet was adopted. The Tallowing officers were elected for tho ensuing year: Patron, Mr. W. A. Guy; president, Mr. N. Crocker; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. Baker, J. Klley and J. J. Hayward; secretary ! and treasurer, Mr. E. Drake; general committee, Messrs. L. Houiahan, E. Mortimer, L. ..Wajsdorf, Jno. Johnstone, 0. Roberts, B. JoSa.'l, A. Fraser; sdloctctrs, Messrs. N. Croeker, Jno. Johnstone; delegate to T.R.FU., Mr. A. Lees; auditor, Mr. L. Walsdorf. The matter of entering teams for the competitions was left to the general committee.—Star. | THE ELTHAM CLUB. At the annual meeting of the Eltham Club on Tuesday evening, the balance-sheet- showed a credit of £7. Officers for the ensuing year were elected ;as follows: Patron, Mr. 0. Gant. | The subscription was fixed at 5s for tne senior team, and 2s Cd for the juniors and thirds, and honorary members' tickets 7s 6d. The question of colors was left to the delegates to the Union to decide. i Mr. J. Falvey was appointed coach to the team. Mr. H. A. Nuttall Toiced a protest against the treatment meted out to the Eltham team by the Tiraanki Rugby Union during tho prel vions season, and the manner in which Stratford monopolised the majority of attractive matches. . He suggested that other clubs be communicated with upon the matter, and that an effort be made to Improve the personnel of the Union—declaring that some alteration wa9 necessary In the Interests of football in Taranakl. Others present endorsed Mr. JTuttall's remarks, but no action was taken. A gold medal, valued at £5 os, was offered to the club by Mr. .1. Carlson for the senior player putting up the best record and showing the most improvement during the /season, and the senior selectors were appointed judges. Mr. H. Gant also made a, donation of two new balls. It was decided that Thursday, March 25 be the opening day.—Argus. THE INGLEWOOD CLUB. There were a fair number present at the annual meeting of the above club on Tuesday night. Mr. 1. Thomas presided. The balance-sheet showed a satisfactory state of affairs. The playing members' subscription was fixed at ss, and honorary members 10s> About eight new members were elected. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: Patron, C, R. O'Carroll; president, J. Sutherland; vlee-presldents, W. Eagar, .1. Thomas, D. Wilson, E. Heal, H. J. M. Thomson, A. Paterson, G. Young, W. Armstrong, R. Cutfleid, P. «. Nops, A. Life, \V. Llle; secretary, V. E. Chapman; committee, W. Stephens, C. Lealand, J. Archibald, J. Thomas and W. Eagar, with president and sec-, retary ex officio; delegate to T.R.U., 0. Boldt. It was decided to hold the opening match on April 15th. The matter of insuring the teams was dißr cussed, and it was eventually resolved to leave it to the committee to investigate; also the matter of travelling expenses. Tho meeting decided to enter three teams ". Votes or thanks to outgoing officers, and to Mr. Eagar for the use of his room, and to the chairman were passed.
