STREET NAMES.

MAORI TERMS EMPLOYED. At last night's meeting' of the New Plymouth Borough Council the Streets Sub-Committee recommended that legal steps be taken to name the following unnamed streets:— Street off Carrington Road—Broadmore Street; Deralto Road—Hursthouse Street; Govett Avenue—Woodleigh Street; Mangorei Road—Puketi Street; Ngamotu Road—Paritutu Street; Paynters Avenue—Pukaka Street; Tukapo Road—Waimea Street; Waiwaka Terrace—Skect Street; between Avenue Road and Brooklands Road—Upjohn Street; adjoining Abattoir Reserve—Te Puis Street; between Fitzroy Street and the street last mentioned—Weka Street. It was also recommended that the •portion of Holdsworthy Road in Vogeltown retain the name of Holdsworthy Road, but that the following parts be renamed:—Part from Tukapo Road to Frankley Road—Clawton Street: part off Avenue Road (fading to Mr. T. Avery's property)—Timandra Street. The Committee recommended that the thanks of the Council be tendered to Mr. W. H. Skinner for his assistance in suggesting names for the unnamed streets above referred to. The report was adopted. ~"q;^;
