MEETING AT NEW PLYMOUTH. A BONUS GRANTED A conference, which extended over neveral hours after midnight on Saturday, took place between the Borough Council and the New Plymouth tramway employees over the question of wages, the men being unwilling to accept the Dominion agreement suggested by the conference of controlling authorities, which met in Wellington recently. Eventually it was decided to give the local men a bonus of 8s per week until such time as a Dominion award is made and accepted by the parties to the dispute.
