INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The monthly sitting of the S.M. Court was held on Friday, when the following cases were dealt with: —Judgment by default G- S- Nutting v. J. G. Ijiimsden, claim £7 12s and Ss costs; Same v. W. (1. Crozier, £0 4s and costs 8s; B. H. Geddes v. Pitt, application for possession of house. After hearing evidence, plaintiff was non-suited, with costs £1 Is. The heavy downpour of Wednesday and Thursday caused considerable damage and inconvenience in town and district The Tarata-Pnrangi mail bus has been unable to get out from Purangi on account of a large, slip on the Zig-zag since Wednesday night, but the bus came out on Friday afternoon, and immediately returned with mail and papers. In the town the streets v.ere temporarily flooded, and some residents had some difficulty in getting out-of-doors. There are several cases of slckne'ss in the town, having the same symptoms as the dreaded influenza epidemic. Whether, or not, it behoves everyone to take every precaution, not only for the sake of the individual, but for the public good. The penalty for carelessness ,is very great.
