WIRTH'S CIRCUS AND ZOO , TO-NIGHT. Wirth Bros, will open a season in New Plymouth to-day (February 21) for one night only. Many star Attractions will he presented. "The Eddy Duo will give a marvellous performance on the silver wire, turning somersaults. The Cevine Troupe of four ladies and two gentlemen will appear in a whirlwind wire-walking and dancing act, entitled "The Maniacs of the. Wire," in which they move at such aped that they require two parallel wires to give room for the whole company to perform at once. The Three Carc'ias will be seen in acrobatic feats that are the wonder of three continents. The Zoe Sisters, in a butterfly ballet in mid-air, suspended by chords held in their teeth, will give a performance so beautiful that beholders will hardly think of its danger. The Flying Winskills will leap through the air, pirouetting" and somersaulting from one swinging trapeze to another, while their Charlie Chapjin clown keeps the audience in paroxysms of laughter. Leo Monfort, circling the Loop of Death, will show what he alone has been able to do, two of his wouldbe imitators having been killed in the attempt. Tex Baileys' living statuary animals will bo seen again in an entirely new act of classical and topical poses, copies from the beautiful alabaster statues of the world's famous art-gal-leries. La Bella Cora, a beautiful woman with the strength of a lioness, will execute graceful and daring feats on the high trapeze. The Zoo will be open from 4 to 5 p.m.

In Marguerite Clark's latest Paramount -Picture, "Little Miss Hoover." there is a scene, the originality of which is certain to delight all audiences. Miss Clark's role i* that of a rich girl suddenly rendered poor, and who turns her uncle's old fashioned farm into a hive of prosperous industry. At a critical period in the farminjj operations, the incubator fails to act. Nothing daunted, however, the girl places the eggs carefully beneath the bed clothes, surrounds them with hot water bottles, and falls asleep at their side. Imagine her astoniSiment when she is awakened by diminutive cries, and opens her eyes to find her counterpane a vista of hurrying, scurrying chicks I See them in "Little Miss Hoover," screening at the People's Theatre to-dav and Monday.
