HARVEST THANKSGIVING.
SERVICES AT WHITELEY CHURCH.
Special 'harvest thanksgiving services were held, in Whiteley Memorial Church yesterday. The church "was tastefully decorated with an abundance of gifts of flowers and produce. The morning service was conducted by tho Rev. J. Napier Milne, whose discourse was based 011 the Parable of the Sower. Tho anthem was "The Lord is Good to All" (Lavater). In the afternoon a special flower service for the children was conducted by the Rev, T. H. Burton; of Auckland, who gave an instructive and interesting address. ' At night the church was crowded. A featuie of the service was the special music, some of which ivas given as a prelude to the ordinary service. The choir was assisted by a number of friends and an orchestra of 18 instrumentalist?, and gave the anthems, "I was Glad" (Elvey) and "Send out Thy Light" (Gounod), Miss Butt, of Rotorna, sang the solo "My Task," and the trio "While tlie Earth Remaineth" etc., was sun" by Misses R. Okey and G. Blanchett and Mr. W. Okey. Two Quartettes ("Remember Me, 0 Mighty One" and Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling") were given by the male quartette of the Kiwi Company—Messrs Cottcrill, -Skam, North and Macdonald. Mr. S. 11. White presided at the organ, and Mr. Cooper conducted. The Rev. J. Napier! Milne again occupied tV pulpit and dealt with the question: "Js life justifiable in the long run?"
