FALLING OFF OF CASES. LATEST DOMINION RETURNS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last, Night. During the twenty-four hours ended at noon to-day, 57 cases of influenza were reported.from various parts of the Wellington Public Health District, ineluding 111 from Wellington City and lii from I'almerston North. These Inures show a decrease of 35 compared with the return for tlie previous dayj when 92 cases were reported. The District Health Officer, Dr. Faris, says the. type of cases reported continues to be mild, and lie was of opinion that, the position was improving steadily. The ratio of pneumonic cases remained low. The latest figures issued by the Health Department covers the period between noon on February Oth and noon on Febluary 12th. ; Duriug these three days The total number of cases* reported throughout the Dominion was 639, of which 616 were mild cases, nine pneumonic, «ind fourteen severe. Dr. Makgill say 3 that notifications received from all parts of the Dominion to-day showed a satisfactory diminution in the number of cases reported. CANTERBURY CASES,. Christehurch, Feb. 12. The Health Department's bulletin covering the period from noon on Monday to noon to-day shows 84 cases in Canterbury 'and Westland districts, all mild.
