QUIEN, TRAITOR.
DEATH SENTENCE COMMUTED London, Jan, 31. The death sentence on Quien has been commuter to 20 years' penal servitude. A sensation occurred during the retrial of Quien necessitated by an im formality in the earlier court - martial. Quien earnestly protested that he was innocent of betraying Nurse Caveil. The Public Prosecutor unexpectedly cut short his protestations by saying "Quien is for once at any rate telling the truth. We have documents showing that he is not the man who denounced thg gallant British nurse." Quien, in a voice broken with emotion, thanked the prosecutor. The trial continued on charges of communicating with the enemy and betraying other persona.
