FIGURES FOR NINE MONTHS. STATEMENT BY THE MINISTER. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Treasury figures relating to revenue and expenditure for the nina month* of the financial year ended December 31 were made available by the Finance Minister to-day The revenue for the month of December war £3,223,243, as against £3,005,OS2 for December, 1918, an increase of £217,506- There have been increases of approximately £150,000 in Customs, .€113,000 in" stamp duties, £85,000 in postal revenue, £30,000 in income tax, and £150,1)00 in railway revenue; and a decreaseooff f £270,000 in land • tax. The revenue for the nine months has been £14,305,590, as against £12,099,774 for the corresponding nine months of the previous; financial year, no that the increase in revenue is £2,265,821.. The biggest increases have been: Customs £710,305, stamp duties £873,961, railway £521,517. There is a decrease in the beer duty of £114,884. The total expenditure for the nine months was £16,830,739, as against £13,106,171 the previous year, an increase of £3,604,508. Permanent charges show an increase from £7,000,530 to £8,405,885, but the increase is made up fully by increases in interest and sinking fund of £872,423, and in expenditure under special acts of £534,379. The annual appropriations were £5,424,754, as against £6,165,641.
