A MOTOR FATALITY. By Telegi'aph.—Press Association. Palmerston N., Last Night. It has been ascertained that the victim of the motor cycle accident near S&ndon is Norman Gillies, a son of Hugh Gillies, a prominent Manavvatu pastoralist. The deceased recently returned from the war. His father is absent 'judging at the Nuhaka. Show.
A WOMAN'S SUICIDE. Palmerston X., Last Night. At an inquest on Amy Eliza Harriman witnesses testified that deceased took spirits of salts and then tried to drown herself in a tank. The deceased's son rescued his mother and held her up till neighbors arrived. A verdict of suicide owing to mental depression was returned. j A 'MOTOR ACCIDENT. Palmerston N., Last Night. A motor driven by a taxi proprietor named Speight, collided with a bridge at Awakino and caught flro. One passerigef was seriously injured and is in hospital. Another sustained a broken collar bone through being pinned beneath the ear, and was Tcseued at the last moment. The car was insured in the State Office for £240.
