ENTERTAINMENTS.

THE EMPIRE. "SATAN IN SYDNEY." The People's Theatre on Saturday proving totally inadequate to accommodate the huge number of persons seeking admission, the management has with great difficulty arranged an extension of one night, and the entire programme will be screened to-night at the ■Empire for.positively the last time. The picture proved nothing short of wonderful for an Australian production, and augurs well for the movie industry in Australia. It shows a side of life in a colonial metropolis that is not usually spoken'of. It is a stirring lesson and tells the truth about Sydney and its undercurrent of evil in a manner that is enlightening and vivid. A tense human story is told of a young girl's struggle for existence, handicapped by want of knowledge of the world. It is a picture with a lesson that can be appreciated by all.
