ELTHAM.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Dec. 13. The Diggers gave a performance here on Friday night, and were greeted by a full house. The Rev. Castle iias taken over the Boy Scouts, and made a good start. The Scouts have their quarters at All Saints' Sunday School, where they are quite comfortable. The boys are turning up well, and the familiar uniform is beginning to be seen about again. Mr. J. Lording is back from Australia. Like most of us who revisit places after a long absence, lie was disappointed. Our Worthy stationmaster, Mr. G..W. Bennett, is full of his trip, and is looking the picture of health. The boys from the Army Home are to give an entertainment for the purpose of raising funds to complete the gymnasium and form a brass band.
According to a letter received from a soldier, it seems that quite a number of "the boys" who expected to get home for Christinas were "hung up" in England and Scotland by the railway strike, and missed the boats. The writer, who was in Glasgow at the lime, however, has no regrets. He says the people gave them a real good time. Mr. T. Brookcr is b ick at work again, his hand having healed up remarkably well.
