(From Our Own Correspondent.) I Tho ladies wlm organised the Country Christmas Pair were most unfortunate as U, weather conditions on Thursday last. The vicarage grounds presented quiie an animated scone, the stalls, laden with produce, etc., being- greatly admired. A host of workers had every arrangement in order for a successful duv, when rain descended, necessitating the stall holders retreating to the Parish Rail, when the stalls were speedily reerected and arranged. The attendance during the afternoon was good, and the results achieved must have been gratify-' ing to the ladies who had worked' so untiringly. The sum of £!)0 was taken. It is hoped that the Country Pair will be an annual event.

The following ladies took part:—Durham road stall: Mesdames Dean, Hodge? and Wheeler, takings £!) 7s 4d; Norfolk road: Mesdames West and Reeves and Misses Corncy (2), takings £l4 Cs 4d; Kgmont Village: Misses Morton.
