ST. MARY'S SCOUT TROOP.

BENEFIT CONCERT. ■ The benefit concert given in the Good Templar Hall last night for St. Mary's Scout Patrol, •if not well attended was appreciated by those who were there. The concert wns of a ' miscellaneous character,' and included songs by Miss E. Stone and Miss B. Bellringer, duets by Mrs. E. Denton and Dalzieli, elocution items by Mrs Stuart Russell.and Mr. (joldsworthy, flute solos by Mr. Northern, banjo solos by Mr. New, and humorous items by Messrs. Howlett, New, and Booth. The huomoros items were greatly enjoyed, and the whole programme was most enthusiastically received. Mr. A. Howlett deserved great credit for the arranging of the programme and the decorating of the stage. During an interval, Major F. W. Sandford presented the prizes to the. boys of the patrol. He expressed the thanxs of tiie boys to those who had arranged and carried out the programme, and to the audience for their support. He also read a letter from Mrs. A. E. Walker who enclosed a donation of a guinea towards the funds, saying she had a very soft corner for the scouts. "They were so splendid during the war, and gave us so much help at the Red Cross," she said. "I don't know how we should have done without them and you" The , prizes were presented as follows: Pat- '■ rol' Leadei Wells (axe), Scouts Pankhurst, Wood, Howlett, and A. Keating (knife and fork each), Scouts Patterson . and Lindop (knife each), Corporal Bar- ! nest, best scout (silver medal), Corporal Bowie 2nd. (axe), Scout Wright 3rd. (whistle). The takings from the concert are expected to amount to £l6 exclusive of donations.
