Mr. Polf, the head of the American delegation, in conversation with Von Lernsner, declared that Germany would commit a grievous error which would prove disastrous to her if she Interpreted in her favor Washington's delay in the ratification of the Peace Treaty. He added that there were divergencies regarding the Treaty, but there were no two opinions in the United States regarding Germany's obligation, and her affection binding the Allies, notably to France. Any attempt on the part of Germany to escape her obligations would accentuate the strong anti-German sentiment existing in the United States Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
