THE PRINCE.

VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND. VALUE OF THE RECENT TOUB. t. By Telograph.—?ress Assn.—Copyrlght. Received Dec. 9, 5.5 p.m. London, Dec. 4. The King gave a banquet to the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace. His Majesty congratulated the Prince on forging a new link between Canada and the Mother Country. He expressed his great appreciation of the cordial, even the affectionate, welcome the Prince received from the Government and the people at Washington and New York. It had been his earnest wish that the relations of tlje two great English-speaking .nations should be of the closest and most friendly nature, and that they should work together for the good of civilisation and mankind. He trusted the Prince's visit would assist to that end. The Prince, replying, said the tour only intensified his desire to see more of the Empire. He looked forward keenly to visiting Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and India in the early future.— Reuter Service.
