In a banner four rinks match, Manaia defeated Auroa by 122 to 50. HAWEIU v. STKATFOItD. Playing at Hawera on Thursday, Hawera defeated Stratford by one point, aftor Rome good contests. Tho visitors were hospitably entertained by the club. Following are the details, Stratford being mentioned first in each instance:—

The end of the game was remarkable, with all rinks finished except ,1. S. McDonald v Grant; which had ono head to play. Stratford had a lead dh the aggregate of five, points Maslin's two bowla scored for Haw'era and Purkes tint in a third. McPherson, for Stratford, drew second shot, but tills was cleverly rested nut by Spence, and Hawera lav fourSpence's second bowl was also a counter. Nicholson tried running shots, which failed. Grant's first howl was put at tho back. McDonald .ailed with a drive, and Grant drew sixth shot. McDonald then tried to save and brushed Hawera's third howl, but had a bit too lunch running and passed through a port, and I Bawera marked up six and the game.
