The Government has decided to distribute, the canteen profits to dependents of deceased soldiers. THE NORTHERN TERRITORY. Melbourne, Dec. 2. The Federal Government has announced that they are giving the Northern Territory a representative in the Senate, who will be entitled to speak and vote on all territorial questions? STUDY OF TROPICAL DISEASES. Sydney, Dee. 2. i. An expedition from the Loudon Troj pical School of Medicine has arrived en route to ,the Gilbert and Ellico Islands to investigate tropical diseases. STATE GOVERNORS. Melbourne, Dec. 3. Mr. Lawson (Premier) announced that he had received a message from Lord Miluer stating that a Governor would not be appointed to Victoria for sixmonths, pending the result of the Commonwealth Convention, which will discuss the redistribution of State and Federal powers. INFLUENZA IN TASMANIA, Hobart, Dec. 3. Sixteen fresh cases of pneumonic influenza have been notified, fourteen at Zeehan. SOLDIERS* WAR GRATUITY. Hobart, Dec. 3. The Tasmanian Government has decided to cash the war gratuity bonds.
