The Manchester Guardian says that the Board of Trade is appointing a committee to investigate the charges that, the Government is profiteering in connection, with the sale wool textile. It points out that roughly $ 500,000« i 'worth is sold at each »a!e, *125,00p representing the difference hetween the pr.rchase price overseas and the selling pric. • It is understood the Ministry refuses to disgorge its profits to the Treasury until all accounts are settled. Ten months wool imports represent £9-2;000,000, and the profits'are therefore enormous.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. The Manchester Guardian adds that the Government is-alleged to be guilty of the rankest profiteering. It is stated a tre- • mendous profit is made from the spies of surplus cloth.—United Service.
