SUPREME COURT.

THE NAPIER SESSIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Napier. Last Night. At the Supreme Court, William George Perfect, found guilty of indecent assault on a child of nine years, was ordered to come up for sentence when called on. Wi Paul, on a charge of forgery, was similarly treated. Witty stories are often the order of the day in courts, but one which is easily in the first rank was given by his Honor, Mr. Justice Chapman, when addressing the jury in the Supreme Court case in which Beresford ana Roberts claimed £730 from O. Lovell, fisherman, for a breach of contract, m connection with the supply of, fish. "This," said his Honor, "is a fish story. Fish stories have been popular since the days of Jonah. In those days fish swrfllowed a 'propnet, but nowadays the public swallow the fish and somebody else swallows the profit."
