The Secretary fo r Labor (Mr. Wilson) addressing the conference to deal with the coal miners' situation, declared that the miners' demands for a six-hour day, a five-day week, and 60 per cant increase in wages were 'impossible, and added that the industrial life of the eoun.try could not continue if work were limited to 30 hours weekly.—Aus.-N.Z.
