DTJNEDIN SESSIONS, By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. At the Supreme Court, James ■ Reynolds Hayne, Elizabeth Simpson Ingiw, and Norman .Neylon were le-tried on a charge of conspiring to use an instrument for an illegal purpose. A second court charged the accused with using an instrument for an illegal purpose. The jury retired at 4.25 p.m., and returned at 8.20 p.m. with a verdict of not guilty against the three accused on the charge of conspiring. Inglis was found not guilty on the' second count, but the jury was unable to agree regarding Hayne and Neylon, who will come up for a third trial at the criminal sittings (n February. Bail was allowed as before. Charles Tomlin, who pleaded guilty to six charges of false pretences, was sentenced to two years' imprisonment on each charge, sentence to be concurrent. The accused was also declared an habitual criminal.
