THE PROBLEM IN AUSTRALIA. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Melbourne. Nov. IS. Mr. W. M. Hughes (the Federal Prime Minister), at a big meeting, explained the referendum proposals, which were intended for us,e only, in allaying industrial unrest and dealing with profiteering. He raid _that a convention at which the States would be represented would be held next year to consider the revision of the constitution. His statement that so-called Labor people opposed the proposals led to continued interruptions.
