SUPPLEMENTARY ESTIMATES.
A NATIONAL WAR MEMORIAL INCREASE IN RAILWAY>PAY. (By Wire,—Own Correspondent.) Wellington, Last Night. The Supplementary Estimates, which were passed by the House this evening, include the following votes:— Increases in pay of railway staff, less amount already provided for war bonuses, £450,000.
Cost of peace stamp, £2737. Additional contribution to Rathvay Superannuation Fund, £50,000. Compassionate allowance to the widow, of the late Mr. J. Colvin, £IOOO. National War Memorial, £IOO,OOO. Peace Celebrations (additional), £115,00#. Visit of lIM.S. New Zealand, £2OOO. Administration of the Social Hygiene Act, £BSOO.
Expenses in connection with the advancement of aviation, £25,000. Payment to members of the Industrial Committee of the Hons© of Representatives for services rendered by them, during the last parliamentary recess, and expenses in connection with the preparation of the report of the committee,' £2OIO. , Additional grants to Education Boards for general purposes, dtS2SO. Supplementary grant for incidental expenses of School Committees, £BOOO. , Re-building worn-out schools (additional), £SOOO. Purchase of coal mining properties (additional), £16,000. TARANAKI GRANTS. The votes on the Supplementary Estimates include:— Subsidies to the Park and Domain Boards, Egmont (additional), £4OO. Subsidy to the New Plymouth Tourist and Expansion League, £SO.
