LAWN TENNIS.
NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION. Mr. A. G. Henderson presided orer the annual meeting of Ihe Now Zealand X,a»u Tennis Association, which was hcid last week, Ihe annual report and balance-sheet, which were adopted, disclosed a cash surplus of £414 12s 6d. Opportunity was taken by the chairman, to point out that the activities of tho association had perforce been moribund for the past two years. It was now intended to take up the woTk on an active basis, and the Christmas championship meeting was likely to provide ft great deal of Interest. Dr. H. B. Leatham, of New Plymouth, was appointed a vice-president. Action taken by the Management CommUteo in deciding that tho "Ayres" ball bo used at tho Now Zealand championship meeting, Wl9, to be held on the Wellington College grounds during Christinas and New Tear next, was aprpoved. The Marlborough Association made application for the New Zealand championship meeting, 1920, to be hied at Blenheim. The request was referred to the Management Committee for consideration and later attention. Mr. Melody gaTe preliminary notice that the Wanganul Association desired to hold its annual tournament on New Year's Day next and following dates. After discussion it. was decided that, the Management Oomrnitteo consider tho advisability of sending a team to Australia after the conclusion of the New Zealand championship meeting. It was resolved that the Management Committee take into favorable consideration the application of the Wilding Memorial Fund for an amount towards procur'ng a suitable interprovincial perpetual challenge shield and cups for junior championships held by the New Zealand Association.
