MOTOR CYCLING.

STAK CLUB'S MEETING. The first meet of the season of the Star Motor Cycle Club was held on the Hillsborough Hill when a good muster witnessed some good riding. Rain fell during the racing. Tlfe following are the results and limes:— CLASS I, open (for 7-h.p. machines).— Taunton, 29 3-ssecs., Indian, 1; Crockett, 82 2«ssecs., Harley-Davidson, 2; Puke, 34 2-6 sees., Indian 2. Also started: Rowe, 35 2-5 nccs., Indian; Lander, 36 2-ssec., Indian; Butler, 37sccs., Indian. Taunton was quickest away and cornered very smartly, scoring a win With a bit in hand. CLASS 11, Open and under, single cylinder).—Fulton, 37 2-ssecs., B.'S.A., Carey, 39 l-ssecs., B.SA., 2; Samson, 39 2-5 flees., 8.5.A., 3. Also started: Lealaud, 40 2-ssecs., Triumph ; Fitzgerald, 40 2-[>secs,, Triumph; George l , 40 3-ssecs., Singer; Smith, 60secs., Bradbury. This was a very interesting event, and the win was a very populat one. Fulton rode well. CLASS 111., Open (for side-car machines, any power) .—Taunton, 37 l-ssecs., Indian, 1; McHnTdie, 39 3-ssecs.. Indian, 2; Mrs. Mellardie, 39 4-ssecs., Indian, 3. Also started: Townley, G0 2-ssecs., Matchless. A feature of this event war thn very fine riding of Mrs. MoHardie. Sho had r. poor start, losing (tome time at tho post, but she Quiehly got going and without shutting off a little bit, she took the corner full out. Tho way she handled the big powered Indian was a treat to see. With a good start she should have won. Townley's Matchless choked at th& bend but finished well. The starters were got away promptly and without any confusion or delays. The" whole meeting was exceedingly well arranged, and the spectators thoroughly enjoyed the sport.
