AN OPPONENT FOR MB MASSEY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Nov. 3. Mr. E. Piggott, president of the Buckland branch of the Farmers' Union, Will contest the 'Franklin seat against Mr. Massey in the interests of the New Zealand Labor Party. THE TKAJMES SEAT. ' Thames, Nov. 3. There are four candidates in the field for the Thames seat: Mr. T. W. Rhodes, the sitting member; Mr. W. J. M'Cormick, chairman of the Thames Hospital Board, Official Liberal; Mr T. P. Long (Auckland), Independent Liberal; and Mr. 'J. Purnell, Labor. THE EGMONT SEAT. It ig iby no means certain that the contest for the Egmont seat will be confined to Mr. Astbury and Air. O. Hawken, for it is not improbable that, at the eleventh hour, Mr. G. W. Tayler Will be nominated. Mr. Tayler is being urged by some of his friends to come forward, and the promises of support that he is receiving may lead him to revise his previous decision.
