A SERIOUS CHARGE. By Association. Oaraaru, October 29. • Lewis Gilbert Reilly, schoolmaster at Livingston, was charged with indecently assaulting on separate occasions, two senior pupils of the school. The Board of Trade had a conference with members of 'the Boot Manufacturers' Association regarding the Board's footwear proposals. Various points arising out of the schema were fully discussed and at the close of the conference several of those present gav» notice of their intention to apply immediately for licenses to manufacture. This, however, does not mean the manufacturers will commence work on footwear at once, as they have committments in hand which will keen them busy until the end of the year, but it i» expected that early next year stock* of boots will be available for retailor;. EXPORT OF POTATOES. Christchurch, Last Night. The Board of Trade has recommended to the Minister of Customs that the embargo on the shipment of potatoes abroad should be lifted until November 15. EXAMINATION FOR DEGREES. Wellington, Last Night.
