I EMPLOYING DISABLED SOLDIERS, j By Telegraph. —Press Assn.- Copyright. London, Oct. 22. Employers are making a satisfactory response to the King's appeal to absorb the thousands of disabled soldiers. Five thousand have employed 50,000 men, and are waiting for an additional 50,000 men still in hospital. Five thousand employers have already agreed that the workers shall include a mniimum ot a per cent, of disabled men. CONTROL OF LIQUOR. London, Oct. 22. The Carlisle area war-time liquor control experiment shows a net profit for the year, after deducting interest, depreciation, and all charges, of £IOO,OOO on a total capital of £1,400,000. The Times' financial correspondent draws attention to the fact that the experiment has successfully demonstrated that the whole capital cost can be written off within a very few years.
