At Addington market the yarding was smaller, particularly of fat stock. There were only four races of sheep, compared with six races last week, and 165 cattlo, compared with 334. prices for fat sheep Jumped from 5s to 7s per head, and for exceptionally prime stores more than that. Storo sheep: A smaller yarding of improved Quality was forward. Demand was keener and a rise of from Is Od to 2s 6d per head was maintained over last week's rates. Two and 4-tooth ewes 31s to 325, with lambs 23s 7d (all counted), 4tcoth ewes, with lambs 23s 7d (all counted), 2 and 4-tooth wethers 36s to 30s 9d, 4 and 6-tooth wethers 37s 2cl to 38s 7d, 4 ajld 6tooth merino wethers 30s, ewe hoggets 20s to 26s Id, mixed sex hoggets 27s 4d. Vealers; Demand was keen, with a rise in prices. Runners £9 10s, good vealers £3 5a to £4 15s, fair vealers 45s to 50s, small and inferior to 40s. Dairy cows: There was keen demand for good milking cows. Second and third calvers £lO 5s to £l7 10s, cows in milk £l2 10s, heifers £4 to £ll 10a. Pigs: There was a medium entry, with a drop in prices. Extra heftvy baconers to £8 15s, heavy £7 4s to £7 10s, medium £5 10s to £6 10s (equal to 9%d to lOd per lb), heavy : porkers £4 10a to £5, medium £3 15s to £4 ; 5s (equal to ll%d to Is per lb), choppers! £7 4s to £ll 4s. For store pigs there was | a brisk demand. Best stores 68s to 77s 6d,, medium 50s to 80s, small 44s to 555, weaners 30s to 395, extra good weaners to 435, sows in pig £7 2s 6d to £8 10s. BURNSIDE MARKET. Dunedln, October 22. At Burnside to-day 133 fat cattle were penned. The quality was medium to good, with a few pens of prime. The demand was keen and prices advanced 3s. Prime heavy bullocks £3l 10s to £45, prime £24 10s to £29, medium £2O to £24, light £l7 10s upwards, prime cows and heifers £2O to £24, medium £l7 to £l9, light £l2 upwards. Fat sheep.—l62o penned. The quality was medium to good and competition was keen. ; Prices advanced Is to 2s. Prime wethers 47s i to 68s r medium 50s to 575, light 43s upwards, J prime heavy ewes to 60s, prime 47s to 545, i medium 42s to 465, light 35s upwards, hambs —22 penned. These realised 26s to 355. There was a. small entry of pigs. Fats were in keen demand at an advance of 10s. Stores were also hi keen demand, and late prices Wv i re fully maintained.
