CONFERENCE IN AMERICA. 1 RELATIONS WITH EUROPE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.-Copyt'ght. Received Oct. 21, 5.5 p.m. New York, October 20. The Times, states that at the opening of the International Trade Conference the delegates were informed that the topics for discussion will be credits, I finance, chemicals, coal, foodstuffs, metals, petroleum, textiles, reconstruction, supplies, shipping and the formation of a permanent international businessmen's organisation. Mr Alfred Bedford, the President of the Standard Oil Co., said: "We are informed that because of the high prices and the rate of exchange prevailing in the United States it may be necessary for some countries to buy elsewhere, but the, questions of credits and exchange are essentially bankers questions. We .wish you to consider them with our bankers, who earnestly desire to solve the complicated situation. "One of the methods Whereby future financial co-operation between Europe and America can be realised is by Americans investing money in European en-terprise."—Aus.-NJZ. Cable. Assn.
