Lloyd's Register states there were 2,800,000 tons, of shipping under construction in the United Kingdom on September 30. This represents an increase of 293,000 tons, compared with June 30. A feature of the increase is the number of bigger ships. Returns show that the tonnage building abroad is 5,232,000, of which 2,584,000 is under Lloyd's Register.—Reuter.
