IRELAND.
A PRISON RIOT. SINN FEINERS CAUSE DAMAGE. Received Oct. 7, 8.40 p.m. London, Oct. 6. A serious outbreak by forty Sinn Feiners at Mount Joy prison is reported. Included in the prisoners were 26 brought after a hunger strike from Cork prison. Having failed to secure special treatment, the prisoners presented an ultimatum expressing a desire for intervention by the chaplain. They carried out the threat contained in the ultimatum, on th. stroke of midnight wrecking their cells, breaking the windows and furniture, and smashing the walls. The entire prison staff was engaged for several hours in restoring order. Several prisoners and warders were injured.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. DOMINION HOME RULE BILL. Received Oct. 7, 11.30 p.nj. London, Oct. 7. The Irish Government Bill, which will be a feature of the coming session, has been drafted on the lines of Dominion Home Rule. There are two suggestions safeguarding Ulster.—Aus.-N.Z.
