, jCHE FIUME SITUATION. BRITAIN WANTS IT ENDED. BLUSTER, Received Oct. 7, 9.30 p.m. Rome, Oct. 6. The newspapers give prominence to an official intimation from London predicting .that Britain is sending to Italy a message expressing surprise at the prolongation of the illegal Fiume situation, which Britain considers may endanger Italy's position as a member of the League of Nations. The newspapers declare that the Note will compel the Government to hasten the solution. D'Annunzio considers it unlikely that the Jugo-Slavß concentrated at Buccaro will venture to attack.- D'Annunzio has three Italian brigades, with artillery, itf readiness in battle positions. He declares he could march to Lome at the head of 600,000 soldiers, and that he will do so when he feels disposed, but has important things in hand.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
