NEW POLITICAL PARTY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Ottawa, Oct. 4. Sir R. Borden proposes to fonn a hew political party as an outgrowth from the Unionist War Government. The cardinal principles of the party include the maintenance of the British connection. on the basis of an equal partnership with the Motherland within the Empire, tlie autonomy of the Do> minion and the supremacy of the Do> ininion and the supremacy of Parliament in all questions, including war, to be safeguarded; the retention of a standing army of sufficient size only to meet domestic requirements; in future wars Canada to be consulted by the Motlierland~as an essential preliminary to aid being expected. Sir R„ Borden suggests that the Government should carry on all next spring session. If this programme is then declared unsuitable Parliament will dissolve ilext April, otherwise the present administration will continue until 1022 without a dissolution of Parliament.— Aus.-N.Z.
