According to a despatch from Kufow, Shantung, Kung Hsiang Ivo, special delegate of the Shantung Provincial A.sembly to Paris, interviewed, stated that one of the important reasons that Uima was defeated over the Shantung issue was due to the precedence given to the Fiume situation. "We. trusted President Wilson entirely too much. We sent a delegate to President Wilson asking how he could reconcile the Shantung decision with his assurances given to Uuna. President Wilson answered he was sorry, but would help us when the League was formed."—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
