Assistant Secretary of State Phillips informed the Foreign Relation* Subcommittee of the Senate that condition* in Armenia had been horrible since the British withdrew. Turks and tartars threaten the extermination of the Armenians in a short period. The subcommittee received a cablegram irom the American Mission ia Pans urging ! the immediate dispatch of a regiment of troops to Armenia.-Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
