FIUME.
STORMY ITALIAN PROCEEDINGS. SERBIAN FRONTIER CLOSED. By Telegraph.—F.-ess Assn.—Copyright. Rome, Sept. 29. After a stormy Bitting the Chamber carried, amid acclamation, Signor Marchesano's motion affirming that Fiume should be granted to Italy and expressed confidence in the Government's efforts by 208 votes to 148. Defying the prohibition, Socialists endeavoured to hold a meeting of protest against the Fiume expedition, characterising it an an attempt of the Nationalists to force new wars. The demonstrators broke the cordons and headed by six deputies, reached the centre of the city, crying, "Long live Lenin; down with d'Annunzio." The troops charged and dispersed the crowd. Advices from Trieste state that Serbia has closed her frontier for a fortnight and the movement of Serbian units is confirmed.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
