A SHOCKING ACCIDENT.
j . TARANAKI MAN KILLED. , By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. A shocking accident occurred to-night as the result of a collision between a tram and a motor car. The tram struck the motor as it was crossing the rails and practically wrecked it. One of the occupants, Mr. Ben Bayly, ion of Mr. G. T. Bayly, of Epsom, was killed instantly. Arnold Leckie, the owner and driver of the car, sustained an injury, to his wrist, and the two other ocsupanta were badly shaken. The front portion of the tram was considerably damaged. Deceased recently returned from the front, and had a wide circle of friends in Auckland and Taranaki. He waa a well known footballer, and had been a member of several representative! teams. i
