A MISSING MAN.
ALL TRACE LOST. - By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night A mystery surrounds the disappearance of Sidney Hobbs, aged 20 years, a University student, who left Dunedin on September 16 for Hamilton. The steward on the Maori says the missing mat's ticket was never collected, and, to the best of his belief, he did not board the vessel at Lyttelton. His trunk came to Wellington by the steamer, and, being unclaimed, was landed here.
Mr. Hobbs senior has ascertained that his son left Christchurch by train on the way to Lyttelton, and the assumption is that he must have reached there and placed his luggage on board. From that point, however, all trace of him has been lost. The Christchurch police, with these facts to go on, are now prosecuting further inquiries.
