NEW SOUTH WALES' BUDGET. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Sept. 4, 12.40 am. Sydney, Sept. 3. In the Assembly, the treasurer, delivering his Budget speech, stated that the 1918-19 receipts were £23,5071000, and the expenditure . £23,292,000, a surplus of £215,000. The influenza expenditure was £210,000. The seamen's and wharfies' strike represented over £400,000 in wages. The estimated receipts for the current year were £25,830,000, and the expenditure £25,822,000, the estimated surplus being £BOOO, which, though small, was very satisfactory, seeing it was not proposed to introduce new taxation.
